Ingredients

pounds McIntosh apples (Stemmed, unpeeled, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (including cores and seeds))
1 one pound bag frozen unsweetened blackberries, unthawed
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
Directions

Mix the apples, blackberries and water in Dutch oven.
Boil over medium-high heat.
Cover.
Lower the heat to medium.
Simmer until fruit is tender, about 20 minutes.
Put in a sieve set over large bowl.
Press to force through as much fruit and liquid as possible.
Throw out whatever stays in the sieve.
Return puree to same pot.
Add the sugar and corn syrup.
Stir over low heat just until sugar has dissolved.
Spoon puree into a 13x9x2-inch glass dish.
Put in freezer for one hour.
Put into food processor (you can use a blender also)
Puree.
Return to the glass dish.
Cover and freeze least 1 hour.
