Description:

Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie-a great twist on the traditional thanksgiving pumpkin pie

Ingredients

cup apple butter
1
cup fresh or canned pumpkin
1/2
cup packed brown sugar
1/2
tsp salt
3/4
tsp ground cinnamon
3/4
tsp ground nutmeg
1/8
tsp ground ginger
3
eggs, slightly beaten
3/4
cup evaporated milk
1
unbaked 9-inch pie shell(homemade or pre-made, either way)
Sweetened whipped cream, for garnish(or cool whip if you don't have time to make homemade)

Directions

1.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Combine apple butter, pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices in a bowl. Stir in eggs gradually and mix well. Slowly add milk and mix thoroughly. Pour into pie shell. Bake for about 40 minutes or until set.

(If you see the crust begin to burn, put foil around the crust and lower your oven temperature slightly.)
4.
This pie is fantastic alone , or with toppings. Whipped sweet cream is wonderful on it, and another good topping is praline pecans.
