Description:

Thick soup made with dried beans, ham and veggies. Another great one for wintry nights around the fire.

Ingredients

C. Parsnips, chopped

C. Carrots, chopped
1
C. Onion, chopped
1
1/2 C. Great Northern beans, dried

c. water
1
1/2 lbs. smoked ham hocks or ham shanks

Cloves garlic, minced

t. salt
1/2
t. pepper
1/8
t. hot pepper sauce

Directions

In a dutch oven or roasting pan place:

2 C. Carrots, chopped

1 C. Onion, chopped

Top with 1 1/2 C. Great Northern beans, dried

Add:

5 c. water

1 1/2 lbs. smoked ham hocks or ham shanks

2 t. salt

1/2 t. pepper

1/8 t. hot pepper sauce

Cover, cook in 350 defree F oven until beans are tender.
