Ingredients

1
pound ground turkey
1
medium finely chopped Spanish onion
1
tbsp garlic powder
1
tbsp jerk seasoning (or Caribbean seasoning)
1
tbsp dry roasted pepper seasoning
1/4
cup chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
1/4
cup bbq sauce
1/3
cup blue cheese crumbles
1/3
cup Italian bread crumbs
1
egg
olive oil cooking spray
1
Ciabatta bread loaf (in lieu of buns)
Favourite burger garnishes (we used spring greens, Spanish onion, yellow tomatoes)

Directions

1.
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, onion, egg whites, flat leaf parsley, bbq sauce, dried seasonings, sea salt and fresh ground pepper, and bread crumbs until well mixed.
2.
With clean hands, form the turkey mixture into between 7-8 equal size patties, roughly the size of your palm and thick enough they wont separate.
3.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium/high heat and lightly spritz with olive oil cooking spray. Place each patty on pan, in batches if necessary, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until nicely browned. Remove from pan and let rest while covered about 5 minutes. Serve on fresh ciabatta bread that’s been cut into wedges.
