Ingredients

12
cups water
1
Tbs. whole cloves
1
stick cinnamon
6
teabags black tea (I used English, because that’s what I had on hand that was fresh)
Breakfast
2
cups Sugar (or not…that’s what the original, but we’ve cut that way back over the years…I use about half that much)
recipe said
3
oranges
2
lemons

Directions

1.
Boil the spices in the water for 5 minutes, then remove the pan from the heat, fish the spices outta there, and put in the tea bags to steep for 3 - 5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it. (I go for 5 minutes.)
2.
While you’re boiling and steeping, squeeze every last wonderful drop of juice from the lemons and oranges, and pour the juice through a strainer to get rid of the seeds and the largest bits of pulp.
3.
When the tea is as strong as you want it, take out the teabags and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved, then pour in the fruit juices and mix thoroughly.
4.
Reheat to drinking temperature and enjoy!
5.
If you’re not working or driving or something and you want to give it a little added punch (har, matey!) it’s very tasty topped off with a splash (or two) of spiced rum. Captain Morgan’s is the brand we usually buy.

7.
Notes: You can substitute 1 1/8 cups orange juice instead of the 3 oranges. I used about 1/4 cup sugar, but do the sugar 'to taste'. Depends on how sweet your oranges are and how sour your lemons
