Ingredients
0.5
tsp food coloring (red or green)
9-10
candied cherries, quartered (can use raisins in a pinch)
Directions
1.
Mix together the butter, sugar, extracts and food color. Blend together the flour & salt; stir slowly into butter mixture. Leave covered in the fridge for 1 hour to chill.
2.
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.
3.
Shape 1 tablespoon of dough into an oval that is about 3 inch by 1.5 inch. Add cream or water if it is difficult to form.
4.
In the middle, add "presents" of chocolate, cherries, and nuts. Mold the dough around the presents and shape into a tube about 3 inches long. Fold over the end to form the "foot" of the stocking. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 10-12 minutes. Let cool and decorate as desired.
