Description:

After years of buying my hummus at the grocery store or from restaurants, I decided to try and make my own. This is the recipe that I created based on research of key hummus ingredients. I have had several people tell me its the best hummus they have ever had. I know my family loves it.

makes 4 cups

Ingredients

cup water
1/2
cup tahini (sesame seed paste)

garlic cloves, peeled (can use 3 tbsp minced garlic instead but NO garlic powders)

tbsp lemon juice (fresh or bottled)

tbsp extra virgin olive oil

tsp ground cumin
1/2
tsp salt
1/2
tsp paprika
1/4
tsp black pepper

15 oz cans of chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed

Directions

1.
Place first three ingredients into food processor and process until smooth. Add juice and remaining ingredients. Process until smooth, scraping the sides occasionally.
