Description:

One of the first things I learned to make. They are easy and comforting and sure to make an encore appearance at your breakfast table.

Ingredients

2
slices of bread
1
large organic egg
1
tbsp butter
1
tbsp heavy cream (you can use half and half, or milk or skim milk)
Stick of cinnamon
Dash vanilla extract
Silvered Almonds
Maple syrup

Directions

1.
Beat the egg with the milk and dash of vanilla extract and place in a shallow bowl.
2.
Grate cinnamon over it (to your liking) an mix
3.
Melt the butter in a non-stick pan or griddle (you can use non-stick spray if you want to go with less calories)
4.
Place the slices of bread in the egg mixture and coat both sides.
5.
Put the coated slices of bread on your frying pan or griddle and flip until the egg is cooked on both sides.
6.
Crush the almonds
7.
Serve toast on a plate with almonds and maple syrup.
8.
You can also sprinkle with powdered sugar.
