Ingredients
* 1/4 C Brown Sugar (or 1/8 C white sugar and 1/8 C maple syrup)
* 3 oz Rum (dark is better, but light works as well)
Directions

1. Cook all of the ingredients except the rum together in a pan. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 10-30 minutes (cooking longer will increase the flavor). Taste and add extra sugar if desired.

2. Remove from heat and add rum, stirring. Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes so that flavors come together fully. Serve in mugs.
