Ingredients

* 1 cup dried chickpeas or 16 oz. can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans.
* 3 tbsp of fresh parsley, chopped
* 1 tsp coriander
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
* 1 tsp cumin
* 2 tbsp flour
* Salt
* Pepper
* Oil for frying

Directions

1.
1. Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl and cover with cold water.

2. Soak the chikpeas overnight. But this step can be disregarded if one is using canned beans.

3. Drain chickpeas, and place it in a pan with fresh water, then bring to a boil.

4. Boil for 5 minutes and let it simmer on low heat for about an hour.

5. Drain it and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.

6. Combine chickpeas, coriander, cumin, garlic, onion, salt and pepper (to taste) in medium bowl. Add flour.

7. Mash the chickpeas and make sure to mix all the ingredients .

8.If you want the result to be a thick paste. Mix it in a processor

10. Make small balls using the mixture, about the size of a ping pong ball then lightly flatten.

11. Fry it into 2 inches of oil at 350 degrees until golden brown for 5-7 minutes. Then serve hot
