Description:

This is a wonderful holiday drink called "Gluehwein" and is traditionally from Germany.

Ingredients

1
bottle of good red wine.. (burgundy)
1/2
bottle of port
1/2
bottle of cognac
1
Qt of orange juice
5
cinnamon sticks
1
orange sliced
1
lemon sliced
5
anise stars
1
vanille bean (whole)
sugar to taste (around 1 cup)

Directions

1.
Pour all the liquid in a big pot.
2.
Let it come to a simmer
3.
add sliced fruit, anise, vanille bean and sugar
4.
taste to see you sweet you like it to be.
5.
adjust any of the liquid ingredients to your liking. Depending how strong/weak you like it.
6.
let it simmer for at least 2 hours on low heat.
7.
serve with a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange on the rim of the cup... enjoy.
