Description:

I created this recipe by substituting the milk in my sugar cookie recipe with chai concentrate. I use Oregon Chai but you can use any chai concentrate. Its easy and very tasty. Its like a normal sugar cookie with a little spicy kick!

Prep:

20 minutes once chilled

Servings:

6 dozen give or take

Ingredients

Cookies:
3
tbsp Chai concentrate
1
cup butter
1
cup sugar
1
egg
2
1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1
tsp baking powder
Icing:
3
cups powdered sugar
1/3
cup butter
1-2
tbsp chai concentrate

Directions

1.
Cookies:
2.
In food processor combine 1 cup butter (softened), sugar, egg, and chai. Process until creamy. Add flour and baking and process until well mixed. Divide batter into two pieces, cover, and refrigerate until firm (2-3 hours or overnight). When chilled, preheat oven to 400 degrees. On lightly floured surface, roll dough balls into logs (you can roll flat and use cookie cutters but I am too lazy). Slice into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 6-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely.
3.
Icing:
4.
Blend powdered sugar, butter (softened), and 1 tablespoon of chai concentrate with beater. Keep adding more chai concentrate until you get the desired consistency of your icing. Frost the cooled cookies. Eat and enjoy!
