Description:

A deep-dish apple pie that will satisfy everyone, this dessert is great for holidays or anytime a down-home country pie is needed without a lot of work.

Ingredients

1
15-oz. pkg. good quality refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
1
c. sugar

½ T. flour
1
t. cinnamon
½ t. salt
¼ t. nutmeg

c. thinly sliced, peeled yellow apples
1
½ T. lemon juice

Directions

1.
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine all ingredients in order given, mixing lightly. Put in unbaked pie crust. Place second crust over. Make 8 slits. Spread small amt water over crust & sprinkle on small amt sugar. Flute crust edges & protect edges with foil or protectors. Bake 425 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden. Cool on metal rack. Makes one deep dish pie to serve approx. 8 people.
