My neighbor brought this refreshing salad over for dinner and has been a hit ever since

Ingredients

1 Cup of slivered almonds

2 Romaine hearts, cut into bite sized pieces
Cups of chopped celery

Whole green onions, chopped
11oz cans of mandarin oranges, drained
Dressing:1tsp salt, 2 dashes pepper, 2 dashes Tabasco sauce, 1/2cup vegetable oil,

tbsp chopped fresh parsley, 4 tbsp sugar, 4 tbsp vinegar. Shake well and refridgerate.

Directions

1.
In a small pan over medium heat toast almonds and sugar, stir constantly until almonds are browned and sugar is dissolved. Watch as they burn easily.
2.
Cool and store in an airtight canister.
3.
Mix: Romaine, celery, and onions.
4.
When ready to serve mix the dressing, romaine, and toss with slivered almonds
