Description:

Make Your Own Muesli Bars.These bars are a great lunch box treat,This tasty treat is not only easy to make but it's delicious and it's also packed full of nutritious nuts.

Ingredients

* 65 g low fat margarine
* 160 ml runny acacia blossom
* 50 g brown sugar
* 130 g wholemeal flour
* 200 g rolled oats
* 100 g sunflower seeds
* 160 g chopped dried apricots , dates and raisins mixed
* 50 g chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)
* 25 g sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1: one

In a small saucepan melt the margarine over a low heat. Add the honey and sugar, stir and bring to the boil.

Simmer for five minutes then remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.

In a large bowl combine the rolled oats, flour, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, nuts and sesame seeds

Gradually stir in the sugar mixture and firmly press into a greased baking dish about 25cm x 18cm

Remove from heat. Add oats, nuts, coconut and sesame seeds. Mix with a wooden spoon until well combined. Press mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Sunflower seeds are a great source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 which may help prevent heart disease and skin conditions. These muelsi bars are also packed with essential carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals and fibre. They are so tasty you'll never look at a chocolate bar again.
