Ingredients

3-4
Large Tart Apples(granny smith work well)
¾ Cup Brown Sugar
1
Tsp Honey
½ Tsp. Lemon Juice
¼ Cup Chestnut Flavored tea (or other Nut flavor or Black Tea)
1
Teaspoon Cinnamon
1
Tsp Rum
¼ Cup White Flour
¼ Cup Whole Wheat Flour
¼ Cup Chestnut Flour (substitute more wheat if unavailable)
¼ Cup Quick Oats
½ cup Nuts
Pinch Salt
6
Tbsp Butter at room temp.

Directions

1.
Preheat oven to 375 F. In a medium baking dish, whisk together ¼ cup brown sugar, tea, honey, lemon juice, rum, and half the cinnamon. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small slices. Add apples to the sugar and tea mixture, and toss them so they are coated. In a separate bowl, add flours, oats, salt, the remaining sugar, remaining cinnamon and butter. Mash it all together with a fork or pastry cutter. It should look somewhat crumbly. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apple. Bake in the oven for about 40-45 minutes.
