Combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar and hot sauce. Whisk briskly while adding the oil in a slow drizzle to form and emulsion. Salt and pepper to taste. Place in the refrigerator and let chill while making the salad.

Combine the ingredients for the salad and toss thoroughly. Add the dressing and allow to chill overnightt. Should be made a day in advance.
