1
lb. lean ground beef
1/2
cup yellow onion, diced fine (1/4" or less)
1/2
cup green bell pepper, diced fine (1/4" or less)
olives
1
cup of peas
1
tbsp fresh garlic, minced fine
1
tbsp olive oil
1
tsp salt
1
tsp coarse ground black pepper
1
tsp ground cumin
1
cup tomato puree

Directions

1.
Heat a large skillet and, when hot, add the olive oil.
2.
Add the ground beef, crumbling as you put it in the skillet. When lightly browned, add the onions, bell pepper, garlic, peas, olives and all the spices.
3.
Cook for 10 minutes, stirring often.
4.
Cover, reduce the heat to medium low and cook for 20 minutes.
5.
Add the tomato sauce, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, put into a bowl and serve over white rice or with hot flour tortillas.
