A combination of my Alfredo sauce and my basic sauce. It's fairly simple to make and is extra creamy.

Ingredients

For the alfredo sauce:
1/4
cup butter (1/2 stick)
1/2
cup heavy whipping cream
1
cup grated Italian cheeses (asiago, romano, and/or parmesan)
1
clove fresh pressed garlic
For the marinara sauce:
1
can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
2
cans tomato sauce (15 oz each)
1
can tomato paste (6 oz)
2
tbsp white sugar
1
tsp Italian seasoning
1
tsp olive oil
3
bay leaves
1/2
tsp oregano
2
cloves of fresh pressed garlic
4
mushrooms, sliced (optional)
1/4
tsp fresh ground black pepper (optional)
1/4
- 1/2 pound ground beef (optional)

Directions

1.
If using ground beef, cook on the stove, breaking into small pieces. Cook thoroughly. If using mushrooms, sautee them.
2.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Raise the heat to high, add the garlic, and stir for 60 seconds. Lower the heat to medium-low. Add the cream. Mix well. Finally, add the cheese. Stir until everything is melted and blended.
3.
Add all ingredients, including the Alfredo sauce, meat (if using), and mushrooms (if using) to a slow cooker and mix well. Cook for several hours, stirring occasionally.
4.
In a pinch, you can heat everything on the stove, but it won't be as good. If doing this, make sure the sauce doesn't boil to avoid giving it an acidic taste.
