Ingredients
1.5
lbs ground chuck (lean meat makes for a crappy burger)
Directions
1.
Prep a medium fire on grill.
2.
While the grill is heating, combine the ground chuck, salt, and pepper mixing thoroughly, using your hands.
3.
Shape the mixture into four patties, about 3/4-inch thick in the center and at the edges. If they are too thick, they will not cook well.
4.
Place the patties on grill.
5.
Grill directly over the heat for 5 to 7 minutes per side for medium, less for rare to medium-rare, and 7 to 9 minutes per side for well done, turning once.
6.
Slide knife in the middle to see if they are done, or check with a meat thermometer (160 degrees to be safe)
7.
Toast the buns on the grill grid for about 1 minute or until lightly browned.
