Ingredients

1
cup milk
1
cup thickened cream
1
vanilla bean
4
egg yolks
1
tbsp cornflour
1/3
cup caster sugar

Directions

1.
Mix milk and cream in a saucepan. Split the vanilla bean and take the seeds out. Incorporate the seeds into the mixture.
2.
Cook the mixture over medium heat until hot (not boiling).
3.
Mix egg yolks, cornflour and sugar in a bowl, whisking constantly. Pour in the hot milk mixture.
4.
Bring the entire mix back to the stove, and cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes until it thickens.
5.
Serve as a siding with fruits or bread.
