This is one of the best spas in NYC. They have on the Upper East side which is more modern but nothing compares to this. This hammam baths, turkish, cold, hot pools. It's just amazing. Also the food is so healthy. I love this place so please don't share this with friends. It's perfect for a day to de-stress and relax.

Very clean place with tons of stuff to do. If you cannot swim (like me) don't worry the pool isn't deep. So this isn't the olympics. It's like big bath tubs, hot tubs, dipping pools. All done is a modernish decor. Not too dated.
My day was too short though at spa castle. I took a taxi home and was like a puppy leaving it's home. The staff is relatively nice. I saw one really yelling at an older black woman for some infraction. I didn't see it but she put the woman on the spot. Most of people walked away but someone defended her. I think they escorted them out or just told them to stop. But that was a minor thing because I didn't see what she did.
    I will definitly going back.
Oh get the korean shaved ice. It's like Halo Halo mixed with Star bucks. So good after the sauna.

My friends and I visited the spa during the weekday and it was pretty chill. I read a few pieces on the place before I went and a few odd things stuck out.
One someone died in the pool.
    Two lots of friggin kids.
While I didn't see any dead people did see lots of older and youngers people in the pool. Make it almost feel like Astoria pool. I am not sure if the waters would turn yellow at various times if you know what I mean. I did a massage treatment while one of my friends got some scrub. She loved it. I on other hand didn't like the roughness of it. It was a fine place and would visit again, maybe.

    People here are real critics.
The place is great. The amount of services they have you cannot find that in one location in NYC Area except the other Spa Castle in NJ. Someone complained about the food and drink cost. How much does it cost when you get a glass of wine in Midtown after work? $12-15. Yeah exactly, it's pricey but it's normal. Get a tea or somehting light. You don't need to have a boozey spa experience. You should just be relaxing.
The massages are priced perfectly for what you get and your not paying extra. I think the real shame is so many people at the Spa are getting that 1/2 coupon which make them cheap. Plus some of them are yelpers which are usually a horrible bunch of "fake" reviewers who threat business with bad reviews if they aren't treated special. Grow up, respect these are businesses and not "frees". Your not special because you have an internet connection and over 400 fake followers on yelp.
Enjoy the facilities, if somehting is off please tell managmeent. They will fix it vs telling the world you didn't like a stain in a tile.
    Asses.

Good service, good-ish food, décor is really cheesy but it's what to expect. I went but didn't pay the extras for the massages or therapies. Kinda on a budget. I got a discount on FriendsEAT for 50% so kinda worth it.
They have pools upstairs, with some hot tubs. Most were taken up when I got there. It was a bit packed but it was really hot day. I probably was the youngest 20 something there so was weird. Most people were like 40 and a few teenagers.
My favorite thing was the Sauna if you like it hot. It was like 120 degrees in there. I sweated so much so gross. But you shower afterwards in medium water so your skin feels good.
One thing I did drop the decor was because I saw a naked dude downstairs. He was in his robe but nothing underneth. So I saw his stuff many times. No one said anything. It was gross.

There is great deal for 50% off from Livingsocial & Groupon. Do not be a fool and pay more. I only paid $25 got in early. Did my thing. Full massage was a bit extra. Saw a couple get the couples hot tub. Not even sure what goes on in there. I will have to ask. Looked pretty umm. nude.
The spa is a must for the summer months. They have a few pools upstairs, but sometimes full of people when you get there later in day. I would say 8am - 11am then get out. When we were leaving the lunch crowd was coming in and the line was long.

Queens? Okay I am from Brooklyn and I really never even seen anything like this. This spa is huge. When I say huge think 5-6 floors roof top pools. They have a weight gym, a bar(s), movie room, cold rooms, hot rooms, pools with different tempertures, some restaurants. Just about everything you can think of for a day in for rest and relaxation.
My only real critique from me as the amount of ghetto people coming in with Groupon deals. I met some maybe people from Manhattan complaining to staff about this and that. I asked them how much they paid. It was like 1/2 of what I did. Now I am not mad at that but don't be a dickey about it. You got 50% off enjoy the enviroment. This is not like any other place in NYC. So go with the flow.

Kiddies, Grannies, and hipsters from Brooklyn. But aside from that the Spa (not even sure I can call it a spa) is huge. Lots of things to do. So my favorite thing was the LED Sauna. Thave you sit down and shoot LED lights into you. I am not crazy but it totally calmed me down. I am slightly OCD so this was just the weirdest but coolest thing. I told my friend when I left it, it was like massage for my brain. LOL. The Cold room and hot room did make my skin feel tight.
Only reason I cannot give it amazing reviews on Food is because we only ate some fries and beer. Beer was some Korean beer which was like Coors Light. The fries were soggy. I thought in a spa they would have more fruit and healthy stuff. They even have a starbucks. So there goes my Spa day.

I ordered a few deals on Group for 50% off. I recently got sick and I cannot visit any spa. I called up the place before it expires if I can get extension or just a refund. They pointed me back to where I bought it from. I call/Email Groupon they said you have to with the vendor. So I called Spa again and they said pretty much I am shit out of luck. I told them I used 3 Groupons before with them and had an amazing experience it's just my doctor said I cannot visit till I am okay. The woman on the phone was so rude and she was a manager. Told me I am out of luck and would have to take the loss. I pleaded my case even offering to send medical stuff but she just pretty much hung up on me. SO RUDE!
I will not visit them again in future.

How to join a cult in under one day aka my Spa castle experience.
I am not going to go at lengths into the Spa itself. Yes they have 2 big pools upstairs with warm jets that you even use in the winter. Yes they have massage, facials, grooming treatments all for reasonable prices. Indeed you will be frozen, heated, steamed, soothed and scrubbed. Do you desire extra attention for a small price, yep they do that. They do everything. That is the point the place is meant to keep you going back.
First they strip you of your name with a special watch which opens stuff. It has a number on it. don't forget it. It's who you are now. Then they ask you to strip clothes off and put on a moo moo. It's now your official dress number 1984. You must answer by that name or else your out of the cult. One person review said they play cartoons, I saw some soap opera on the TV in food court. So I am skeptical.
The final way they indoctrinate you is make you strip fully nude and be baptised in the private area. It's a ritual overseen by older gentlemen and an attendent who I must assume is an religious official. You dip in and come out reborn. So this is what happens to you.
    Would I suggest it?
Well brothers and sisters this is the true way. Follow the Spa Castle path and you will be enlightened. My proof is when I left my body and mind were both relaxed and at piece. Friends said I was glowing. This is the true proof that this is the path to divinity.

Massage, scrub, sauna. All happened. All were good.
I read reviews saying you have to get in early. I did but the tempertaures were not up to right levels yet. So I would suggest they preheat them before opening.
My friend the other day went couple of weeks ago and didn't believe me when I said that. She said it was scolding hot. Like too hot. So I don't now the perfect middle point. But for me it was tepid at best. It was a fun time and I have told friends about.
Going to go again but maybe later in the day.

People are really too harsh in their reviews on Spa Castle. I think it's because they are on a deal or something. But it has really declined. Most likely because of the influx of deal people and yelpers (hey I am a FriendsEATer..I write a blog). I will not go into the amenities or experience that others have had but will tell you my suggestions to staff.
    1. Remove the discounts. If you need the place packed offer an easy to understand annual plan.
    2. Clean up the facilities. I know you were just recently shutdown. This is your fault. FIX IT. Someone died there. Some strippers had sex there. Put cameras in everywhere and make sure this does not happen.
    3. Have a meal plan so prices aren't crazy for people. If I know I am going to pay $50 for food just have it part of the wrist ban.
    4. Fix those outfits. They looks terrible.
    5. Your hires are either koreans who do service which are fresh off boat, locals which are pretty not caring or your private management staff which I bet is family/friends of owners. It would be better to hire service people. People who are like the ones you meet at Trader Joes. People who really care about business have own personality and are real people.
These are my suggestions right after my visit. I talked about it on the car ride and it irked me.
Would I go back? Yes if the changes were made but probably stick to one in New Jersey or I hear there are Russian baths similar in Brooklyn.

Trash, they didn't honor my LivingSocial coupon because they said it was used already. It was not! I and my SO had to pay full price plus the Groupon fee. So it was like paying 25% more.
The facilities are okay. Nice to see the pools and steam room. But It's not worth it.
Don't run a promotion if you won't honor it.

Typical Korean spa that can fit in NYC sizing. Massages, foot stuff, facials all for a price. Domes on one of the floors for things like Salt room to dry you up and freeze ya in Fridge room. Big public pools upstairs. Bit ghetto but not horrible.
The food was actually a pleasant suprise. I did some of the eel which came with a bunch of nice stuff. Not kimchi but pickled things and soup. Was tastey and slightly barbacuey. After a day of swimming and spa-ing food is important.
I would suggest people visit at least once for the experience. (get a FriendsEAT 50% discount...don't pay more)

These guys are kinda of "nazis" in their rules. I brought a drink up to pool level. Like a tea just to see it and was immediately asked to leave. I had my new bathing suit on went to the private area got them almost ripped off me. I tried to book a massage they told me you have to book ahead on phone. It was just kinda blah.
I can see people enjoying it but it wasn't my thing.
Also the food and drinks are easily Manhattan prices or more.

I compare this one with the one in midtown. It's much larger and has huge pools upstairs and more facilities. The only thing is the conviences to get here. You have to take the 7-Train then an Uber. I think they have a bus from midtown but I couldn't read the sign because it was in Korean. So I guess they are trying to cater to that demographic more. I didn't mind it because I went with a female friend so we hand fun on the trip. I do not know Queens well but seems pretty gritty except as you get to Spa Castle. Residental but some factories around it and Citi Field (Go Mets!) isn't too far. Okay on to the Spa, We got in maybe at 1pm because it's a far trip. I booked a food scrub for later in day. Went into the spa and was like whoa. Is this NYC. It is huge. Like a NY Club. I was waiting to see a bouncer and a DJ spinning. None of that. Just normal people booked us in and gave us a robe. So the rules are you wear the robe in the common areas but in the unisex areas you go nude. So bring your bathing suit or somethings might fall out in the common area. I felt a bit self concious in the private areas. I am not ashamed of my body but I definitly didn't realize i would be "exposed". Anyway. You get some nice different hot tubs in the private area and a sauna and shower. The locals were talking and chatting. Some older people with zero caring then the people from Manhattan like me with our eyes looking up and down. It was like being on the 6-Train. I now have seen most amount of nude new yorkers ever. Well don't ask about my private life. So after that I got "dress" in my robe went to the other floor and they have all these rooms, something with lasers, refridgerator rooms, some hot rooms and I think an oven or something. I didn't go in their. Plus there is also rooms for just maxing and relaxing. My friend Micha did get a massage which she love. While she was in there I did a foot scrub. The attendent was powerful. I think I lost 50% of my skin on my ankles and feet. Which was sorely needed. The streets of NYC can be brutal. After that we went and tried to meditate in the sleep room. Was quiet. off to next adventure in the food area. It's nothing special. They have some big TV playing some korean I guess cartoons. We got glass of pretty expensive wine ($10?) and some soups with dumplings. Romantic day for two friends.

(Google Translate to Englsih) my english is not so good. My mother, brother and sister went to the SPA CASTLE on our trip to Time Square New York City, New York. We went on our first trip to United States and was good. Lots to see. My American friend brought us to SPA CASTLE to see the water. We never had a water park like this in South America. Very cool. The water was 30 degrees so perfect. You cannot swim because it is small but you can float. Many people who are Korean were there and we at the food. My sister didn't like the small empanadas of beef. They had soya but I liked them very much. My mother loved the sun upstairs in the pool but was afraid of the neighborhood because it had many factories. We don't know the area but JFK airport is near so you can visit it after a long flight. We stayed in Manhattan near Central park but took the Metro system and a bus to the place. I would suggest going into the massage place. Very nice and detailed. Not too expensive if you are on vacation. Food is typical american prices which are very very high. If you are foreign please go with an American or Korean who can take you. The SPA CASTLE has many official rules which you will not know because the signs are in english or korean. My secret is if was being yelled at by american staff just tell them "Yes, I only read espanol. Where is bathroom". It works all time. Please go to SPA CASTLE. Only very cheap for lots to do. After you should go to Queens area. It has many different people. Next trip we will explore more. I am sorry for my poor english.

Got FriendsEAT's 50% off. Was simple. Walked in like a pimp. Swam, flirted, got some numbers in our robes. This is single's fantasy gone amuck.
Since everyone is in spa mode really easy to talk to people. I will admit I even flirted with my massage gal. I know I am pig but it's fun. The enviroment is just so relaxing. You can get bottle service at the bar even but it's not like a club. Just typical bar. I am not Korean so not sure if it's typical or not.
One thing that isn't the greatest is the fridge room. It will freeze your stuff if you know what I mean.

Had a good time in Queens at this insitution. I was told by my sister who went that it would be full of koreans and I would stick out. This was not the case at all. It was pretty multi-cultural. Mix of young and old. Really comforting. My few qualms I had were that it's all nude upstairs in private sex area. That was weird for an American. Also prices were a bit outragous as you go down into food area. But outside that the pools, saunas, hot tubs were great. They have a few that are different tempertures I think with really strong jets.
The igloos downstairs was something out of a Sci-Fi movie. They have a sleeping room, a refridgerator room and some LED room which was funny. I kept cracking up at the idea.
It was a good experience and I would go again but either with a date or a big group.

Not going to review the spa, only the restaurant. So yummy. I had some bulgogi rice, a broth of chicken and tempura. All very authentic like you would get in Koreatown or if you went to Fort Lee. The service is no frills. More like a mall kisok enviroment. But don't be shocked at the prices. I think I paid $15 just for my rice dish. It was alot of food but I would take smaller portions for better prices. Oh and they do have american options on menu. I saw table next to me get some burgers and fries. Why??
