As a frequent guest of both the downtown location and University drive, I was very excited at first. There was definitely a pretentious feeling in the air. We were asked which room we preferred, since I have no knowledge of what they are talking about, neither was it explained in detail, how are we to know? They need to be more inviting and less presumptuous.
The waiter we had was absolutely horrible, I had to get my own Ketchup from a differently table whist he stood behind us talking to friends. Secondly I had been waiting for a glass of water for around 10 minutes.
The Food....All I can say was it was edible. The mozzarella sticks I had come to love, were over cooked, not as big, more costly, and not full of cheese, some of them almost empty shells of half burned breading. In short no longer the best anywhere. My entrée was ok. The Kids menu is overpriced, just like the rest of the stuff.
I may or may not go back, it is possible I will give them one more try. Bear in mind all of this happen on a Thursday night, which can be moderate, but they were in no way close to busy, I cannot imagine going in there on a busy night.
In closing now that Macri's is the same price or more than any other restaurant in that area (Olive Garden, Papa Vinos, Outback, Logan's, etc, etc) They have some stiff competition, and in my opinion they spent way to much on the new building, good luck staying in business, unless you change something, namely the atmosphere and prices!

Sadly our first visit to Villa Macri, was also our last to Macri's. What had been a very regular casual, family-ish, pub-ish kind of place. Opted for pretentious. Macri's Deli had been one of our regular spots for ages. Good food, decent prices. Perhaps not spectacular, but good. Then came Villa Macri's. Big fancy building in the new shopping complex, and perhaps the most pretentious place I've been in. For someone that'd been a regular for so long, we didn't appreciate the hike in prices on the favorites of their deli days they kept on the menu. Everything on the menu felt like they were sticking the customers with their bill for the new digs. The food was still ok, but the overall experience was disappointing.
