Made for a wonderful day
Headed to the MET to check out the Superheroes exhibit. Since we got a little hungry from all the walking, we decided to try the Petrie Court Cafe. The wait was not too long, we started off some beverages. I tried the Frida drink, tequila, mango and mint. It was nice, a bit too sweet, but I finished it none the less. For brunch we did the asparagus and quail egg appetizer, the snapper with purple potatoes and the chicken salad. Quail eggs with asparagus are always a wonderful flavor combo. It was very small, so if you like a big app, go for something else. For me, I thought the sizing was perfect. My snapper was perfectly cooked crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside with a hint of sweetness from the glaze that was accented by the sweetness on the purple potatoes. The chicken salad was nice, almonds, blue cheese and apples added interest to the dish. The greens could have been a little more interesting, but they did not detract from the dish too much. Our server was friendly without being too much in your face and we did not feel rushed to leave. I'll hit this place up again next time I head over to the museum....Make sure that if you go you check out the Boscoreale room in the Roman wing and the Pre-Columbian stuff, it's a must.
