D's is a great little spot on the Northeast Side of town. I recommend stopping by for lunch, because they have some great lunch specials. D's offers cajun selections like gumbos, catfish, and frog legs. You can also get island specialities like jerked pork and chicken. The carribean rice is my favorite. It is a fantastic blend of rice, coconut milk, pineapple, and peppers. Sometimes I eat that by itself. The sweet potato pie is a religious experience!!! I also recommend the beignets which they make fresh on Saturdays!! Warm and sweet, the dough just melts in your mouth. Make sure you call ahead though, because the restaurant is usually open Wednesday-Saturday only.
