User Reviews for The Flying Biscuit Cafa(C)
It's not my absolute favorite breakfast spot, but it's a great place. They serve breakfast around the clock and it's pretty good! I've never tried any of their lunch offerings, but I've sampled a good number of the breakfast foods. The service is pretty good, but it tends to get crowded, so it can be slow at times. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is upbeat and kitchy.
As far as favorite dishes, my favorite is the organic oatmeal pancakes. These things sit in your stomach like a ton of bricks, so don't order much more! They're served with a hot peach syrup that's absolutely wonderful. With a tall glass of milk, it's a sizeable breakfast. The price isn't bad for it, either.
I have my reservations about the turkey bacon. I tried it once but was pretty disappointed. I'm not saying it isn't just as bad everywhere else, though. Maybe I just don't like turkey bacon! The sausage was great and they make a mean omlette.
In short, it's a great spot, but not my all-time favorite. If you're into healthy eating, they have a great menu. Most of what I've tried has been very good. (With the exception of the turkey bacon.) I'd definitely recommend it as a great place for breakfast.
The Flying Biscuit is my new favorite local restaurant. My sister introduced me a few days ago, and I couldn't stop talking about it for days! We each got a different menu item and shared. I had the Egg-stravaganza, and it was excellent. Enough food to keep me going through our entire day sight-seeing. The grits were creamy, the biscuit was fluffy (didn't know they could be fluffy!!), the whole wheat French toast was to die for, the eggs and turkey bacon were cooked to perfection. My sister ordered the (I think) Chicken Gravy Biscuit Breakfast. It too was delicious. The chicken gravy was so good over the biscuits. Yum!
The food is great, it has a down-home southern taste to it and the service is good, but the ambiance is anything but pleasing so I suggest callin your order in and leaving and for that restaurant to be a carry-out place instead.
