If you are meeting friends and would like to sit together this is not the place for you. The restaurant is self serve which suggests that you may choose where you sit. They have two communal tables and like to fill them before filling the private tables. They wanted our six person party to squeeze in between two others parties at a communal table. They are unbelievably rude and uptight about where people sit. My advise to them is get a hostess and servers if you want to control where people can and can not sit. There is a sign that says don't talk to the pizza man he is mean...this is not a joke! He is miserable and nasty. It is very evident that the staff at Iggies is unhappy; I guess that is why they don't treat their patrons with courtesy or respect.

I have lived in Baltimore my entire life, and make it my business to try every restaurant in the city. I recently moved to the Mt. Vernon area about 7 months ago, and have been exploring all of the different cuisines that Mt. Vernon has to offer. Iggies is NOT a place I will ever walk into again. I went with my girlfriend who has a gluten allergy (I know, she is very limited on what she can eat at a pizza place) I ordered the diavola pizza and she ordered the Iggies salad (warm spinach salad with goat cheese). She wanted a protein, so she paid extra to add duck confit to her salad. Her salad came out and it was inedible and overpowering with goat cheese. I told her to go up there and ask if she could have another salad w/o the goat cheese. The owner/manager said sure, we'd be happy to get you another salad, but you'll have to pay full price for it. He went on to say, we carefully pick and choose the ingredients that go into our menu, and when someone comes in here and changes our menu items and then claims to not like it, I am not gonna take the hit for something that a customer has created. After she explained that it was not the duck that made the salad taste bad, it was actually the goat cheese, an ingredient listed in this salad, he responded by saying that you must not like goat cheese then. This arrogance did not sit well with me. I decided to go up there and talk to him privately. I explained to him that I have worked in the Baltimore restaurant community for 7 years, and never have I been treated this way. Normally, if a customer doesn't like something, a restaurant, as a good gesture, would replace the item, free of charge. This is a good business strategy since it makes the customer happy and establishes repeat clientele. The owner told me, well we don't do that here. I then told him I would be sure to post my dining experience on a few reputable food websites. He then told me, "Now you're threatening me, Get the F*** outta my Restaurant!" I told him I wasn't threatening him at all. I further explained to him that a threat is an intent to inflict a violent injury. This is far from a threat. This is actually a promise that I will be posting my experience on numerous food websites. He said go right ahead, we have a solid customer base and don't need anymore patrons at our restaurant. (meanwhile, I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time, surely he needed my business) I told him suit yourself, and I walked out. This restaurant is supposedly dog-friendly. I personally wouldn't even feed this food to my dog after the experience I had.
