This fantastic classic Italian restaurant is a must go for any Italian food lover. Whether it is a traditional Italian pasta or a famous bookmaker salad with homemade dressing there are many delicious options to choose.
The meal starts with the large loaf of Italian bread that will tide you over until your food arrives. (Although you may need a second loaf to soak up all the homemade sauce that comes with your pasta.) Start with a salad preferably the bookmaker. (With shrimp, cheese, salami, eggs, lettuce and tomatoes it can be a meal in itself so plan on sharing or bringing some home.) The minestrone soup is a solid but uninspiring take on the classic Italian dish. So skip it and order 2 appetizers--there are plenty of great ones to choose. In fact just order the Sabatino's sampler with Clams Casino, Sausage with Peppers and Onions, Shrimp Renato and wedges of garlic bread. It is a combination of the most popular appetizers on the menu.

Next select a pasta dish, most are homemade. You cannot go wrong with the lasagna or manicotti. If you are still hungry there are plenty of great main entrees to choose. Seafood, veal, chicken, or steaks all are prepared well and are fabulous. While the desserts are tasty skip them and instead walk 2 blocks over to vaccaro's. Once you go in you will know why you are there.

Sadies enchiladas are great. The trick is not to get filled up on the chips and wonderful salsa before the meal is served. They make a mean margarita that goes so well with the chips and dip I could leave content with just that.
