Half a block north of the Washington Monument on Charles Street and one of the best restaurants in Baltimore. I can't go without getting the Kaddo Borawni, a pumpkin and yogurt appetizer, and their Sabzy Challow.
It's a small place, so call for reservations if you go on a weekend evening.
The Helmand has a longstanding reputation as one of the greatest restaurants in Baltimore. It's elegant but accessible and you are treated well by the staff. The food is consistently fantastic but you can still eat there for under ten dollars! Or if you feel like splurging, you can order quite the feast. No matter what you order, try to get at least one round of the baby pumpkin appetizer with cream for the table, its required eating!
