This was the first restaurant I visited outside of India whose food really tasted like food I'd had in India or in Indian homes elsewhere. Essentially, this is street food that would be sold by someone like a hotdog vendor here, you would never find a restaurant serving a selection like this (at least not in the 1980s when I lived there) I was really addicted to Vik's some years ago but the prices have doubled while the choices and portions are exactly the same. Given India's distance, I've taken to making chaat at home, a few items at a time, when I need my fix.
