Zachary’s is one of those places you just can’t beat. Their Chicago-style pizza is unique and delicious. The only downside is the time commitment you have to put in to eat it. With pizzas taking around an hour from ordering and seats at an absolute premium, this place is for those who plan ahead only. The results are worth every second, but be sure to come before you’re hungry.
I'd heard about Zachary's long before I had ever come here. It's pretty famous in Berkeley, but a little far from campus. I finally came one day while shopping on College Ave. It was pretty crowded inside and I was in a hurry so I didn't dine there, but the decor looked nice. I did think the pizza was very good, if a bit greasy. However, it wasn't as deep-dish as I expected from Chicago pizza. I'd definitely eat here again, but I don't think I'd go out of my way for it.
