Bloomingfoods is the local co-op grocery store in Bloomington. They only have organic foods and free-range meats. They try to have local produce whenever possible (try the peaches in June/July!) In addition to being a small grocery store, they have a hot buffet line that runs all day. The cuisine on the buffet varies from Asian-inspired to pastas and meat dishes, to American and Mediterranean favorites. On Sunday, they have a breakfast buffet. What I liked to do when I shopped there (because it was close to my apartment at the time--I would still shop there if I lived near there) was to get all my groceries and then get a cup of rice or soup to supplement whatever I was having for dinner. They also have an amazing array of desserts and baked goods.
This place is a little different for a Mexican restaurant but delicious. They have a five piece band that wanders from table to table on the weekends.
