Cold Stone Creamery has been a favorite venue of mine for as long as I've known about its existence. What happens is you walk in, look at the flavors of ice cream in the cooler which range from Cake Batter (my absolute favorite) to Watermelon Sorbet (if you've never had this, you're missing out!). Then you look at the different things you can have mixed in to whatever "base flavor" you select from the cooler. The person working there does it by hand in front of you using metal tools. If you aren't feeling totally creative one day, you can also select from their menu of suggested combinations: the most popular one (I think) is birthday cake remix, which combines cake batter ice cream with cake, cherry pie filling, sprinkles, and other delicious things. The "Creations" (ones on their menu) can cost more than the ones you make yourself though because of the high number of different ingredients each one takes.
It is very well kept and the service is wonderful and not to mention how affordable it is to shop there.
