Bloomington is certainly the place for unique restaurants in Indiana. The Snow Lion probably ranks as the most unique of them all. It is owned by the Dalai Lama's nephew, and serves Tibetan style food made appealing for Americans.
The best thing, by far, about the Snow Lion is the salad dressing. You can buy a bottle to take home. The decor is interesting, reflecting the Tibetan theme. Most of the waitstaff (as in most Bloomington area restaurants) are students at nearby Indiana University, and as such the quality of service varies.
The price is remarkably low for what you get. I highly recommend the Snow Lion.
