Taiwan Cafe may not look like much from the outside (or the inside, for that matter), but it can't be beat for good, cheap Chinese food in Boston's Chinatown. There are a wide variety of Taiwanese foods, from obscure oddities like "pig blood" to more popular favorites like the pork chop rice platter and the tomato-egg-beef rice dish. Prices also range from super cheap (around $5 for the rice platters) to more "fancy" dishes like lobster and other seafoods. Portions are HUGE, making it amenable for "family-style" sharing. It also means you can get a great meal for under $6-$7 and still have plenty of leftovers for dinner tomorrow. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. It's open till 1:00am too, making it one of the few places to grab a real meal late at night in Boston. The only cons to the place are that it's small so it can be crowded on weekends.
