User Reviews for Dots Diner
This place is excellent for hangovers, or not! It's only open for breakfast but that's all I need! I always get Arnold's Eggs. They are affordable and friendly. They recently started taking credit cards thank goodness, the cash thing was probably slowing down business. The jam they leave on the table is awesome. Their restaurants are cute, cozy, and charming and I love going here.
We visited Eggman's yesterday, and found the restaurant to be good. The decor is more like a family owned restaurant and there is an adjoining 1950's type diner that is attached. There is a senior discount as well. The menu is a family style menu with your typical fare: chicken, biscuits and gravy, your standard pasta menu, steaks and fish. Lots of variety for a very good price. You even get free wine with your dinner! After reading the previous review, it seems strange that the customers in April would be treated any differently since the staff and owners of the restaurant is so ethnically diverse as is the clientele. Looking around, everyone seemed to be eating heartily so I sure hope that it was a very off day with a very off server who is long gone because of the poor service that was given. We had a wonderful server, Tracy, who was very attentive and knowledgable. 3 members of the group are fish lovers so 2 plates were the broiled salmon, baked potato, veggies, soup and salad and dessert - each plate costing only $10.95. I heard the scrod was very good as well. Average price seemed to be the $8-$9 range with the dinner option - ala cart was around $6-$7. The salmon was broiled well, although I thought I tasted a slight freezer burn taste to my fish, but the spices helped. The salad was extra crispy and fresh with an abundant dressing on the side portion. There is plenty of variety with dessert as well including cream pies, strawberry shortcake, ice cream and soft serve. 1 member of our party had a burrito which was missing the typical mexican spice and refried beans, but the extra cheese and large portion made it worthwhile. I would definitely return to try the other items on the menu - this place definitely packs the portion in with the value all with a family atmosphere.
