My kids were all pumped up. They just got out for Christmas Break. We planned to grab a bite to eat and then go see a movie. My kids voted on going to Pizza Hut. We haven't been there in a while and I've been ogling those P'zones I saw on television, so I agreed to it. When we got there, we were glad that we were the only ones there. We we seated after a couple minutes of waiting for the hostess to take an order by phone. Then we ordered drinks. By then a couple more groups of people came (I think 2, maybe three). So the waitress seated them (there's only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant). After about ten to twenty minutes of waiting, we received our drinks and were definitely ready to order. We ordered a P'zone, a stuffed crust pizza, and breadsticks. She went back to her station and punched it in the computer. Then came more waiting. We were kind of on a time crunch because we wanted to go see a movie. After about ten minutes, though, we saw some breadsticks appear on the counter by the waitress. We thought, finely, our breadsticks are ready. Then the waitress picked them up and carried them to a different table. We were kind of mad but figured there had to be more coming soon if they gave them breadsticks before us, who've been here longer then they have. So we waited a couple of more minutes and another batch of breadsticks were on the counter. The waitress picked them up. Again we thought, surely these are our breadsticks. Again, we were wrong; she gave them to another table. Five or so minutes passed. My family was getting pretty agitated, but, then, finally, more breadsticks on the counter. Finally, we said, these have to be our breadsticks! We were wrong again, though. That was the last straw for me and my husband. We stormed out and headed for McDonalds (we only had about 40 minutes before the show started by this time). In the end, we wasted about forty minutes at Pizza Hut. Now, don't get me wrong; I'm not dissing all Pizza Hut's, just the one in Charleston, IL. It's WAY too understaffed and it seems like they care more about getting their deliveries out than they care about their customers inside. We recently went to a Pizza Hut in Mattoon and it had very speedy service (I think we had our food in about 15 minutes).
- stuffed crust pizza: good; that crust is my favorite ($14)
- breadstick: good, but a little hard ($1)
