Mas is my neighborhood go-to for all occasions It is that exceptionally rare mid-range restaurant with high-range food. My favorite dishes are the Tuna Tacos, the Chicken Tostadas and whatever the soup of the day is (all excellent). It should also be noted that Chris, the bartender) is just great. Great at making mojitos, great and filling up glasses in a stealthy manner and just a good guy all-around. As it is at the beginning of Wicker Park/Ukranian Village's strip, it's a great place for a date, a parents' visit or just a girls' night out. I've even been known to eat and read alone at the bar on occasion. It's that good.
