I love the Gage. Truly delicious! They have Irish pub gastropub fare here. The brunch is really good and far less crowded. This place is tiny and often packed to the brim. If you sit outside you can people watch. Good food, good drinks. Simple as that. My only quibble is that it can take forever to get your food. Service is friendly, however. The soups of the day are good.

Great place, great food. It looks like the Irish version of Balthazar in NY but without the attitude and better food. We went there on Thursday evening after an afternoon at the Art Institute that it’s right across the street (the entrance to the museum is free on Thursdays after 5pm and it’s open till 8pm). The restaurant was very crowded we had to wait 45 minutes for a table so I would recommend you make reservations. We found a place to sit at the bar and order the cheese plate and drinks so the waiting didn’t feel that bad. The cheese selection was OK, nothing really out of the ordinary, the crackers were interesting and tasty.
