I've been going to Damascus for several years now, and I keep going back. The atmosphere is interesting, if not polished, and the smells of the kitchen make walking into the dining area and experience all its own. Parking is a bit sketchy depending on the time of day but the food is worth braving the parking situation. Where to begin - the falafel, moist inside and crisp outside with no lingering grease. The hummus, smooth and creamy with just the right amount of oil. The strawberry lemonade, far better than any sun-soaked memory from childhood. The smell of chicken and lamb, spiced to within an inch of its existence, searing on its spit. This is not a romantic location and it's not much of a children's place, though I have seen families with culinarily adventurous children there at times. What it is, is the perfect place to go for truly authentic Middle-Eastern cuisine. Oh, and - don't forget to try the baklava.
By far the best I've EVER tasted. It's hard to resist ordering an extra side to drink on its own.
