This place is ok. It's nice to get food when you are drinking but I am not sure if I would ever go here just for the food. You can't mess up chicken strips and nachos so I guess the food was good, the server we had was super nice though and she made it all worth our time being there. Casual place to hang out with friends and nobody seems to mind if you happen to get just a little bit loud or obnoxious, as long as you are nice, and tip your server well, you will e just fine!
If you like Italian Family Style Restaurants, this is the place to go! My family has gone to Mona's and Caponi's in Toluca all of my life, whether it's family reunions, funeral dinners, or just a quick trip to Varna to see family, those restaurants are always a must-stop. Now, with Bernardi's in Pontiac, I'm thrilled to find that there's a restaurant not so far off-the-beaten path, that gives the same great food and service as the other family-owned restaurants. The food was wonderful, we had a great waitress, and it was a great atmosphere. I was afraid that going there after a baseball game, we would be too underdressed for a restaurant that looked as fancy as this from the street, but once inside, realized that everyone there was wearing t-shirts/polos and shorts for the most part. It's casual, yet elegant. And the prices were outstanding!! You have to try the fried chicken family style, with spaghetti and tortellini, a side-item, and a salad/soup, plus bread for just less than $10.00! And if you can't get to the restaurants, we've always gotten the spaghetti, tortellini, and sauce in the freezer section at the grocery store (Mona's brand), and it's just as good as being there!
