User Reviews for Cass Cafe
Cass Café is hipster dining at its best and worst. I like the atmosphere and the food. They have a decent selection of beer. Their prices aren’t bad either. Sometimes the waitresses can get a little snotty though. One time I was with a party of a dozen or so, and we moved tables together. A waitress started yelling at us! I don’t think it’s too much to ask to sit together with a large crowd. Any other time we’ve called ahead and reserved the upstairs area. We haven’t had a problem since.
They have a good selection of vegetarian meals. This may be why they’re so popular with Wayne State students. Everything vegetarian I’ve tried here has been really good. I’d definitely suggest trying the vegetarian burrito, even if you’re not a vegetarian. It’s one of the biggest burritos I’ve ever seen! It has loads of cheese, black beans, peppers, and spices. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart!
They have beer specials, so it’s not a bad place to grab a drink or two if you’re in the mood. There is smoking, so keep that in mind if it bothers you. Surprisingly, this place keeps pretty quiet. It’s not a bad place for lunch or for study. In fact, I think they like it better quiet. If you’re looking for loud, then try a restaurant north of Warren avenue or on Warren avenue.
I love Casual Chinese in Newport. I heard a terrible rumor about them a few years back and stopped going there for awhile, but I love it so much I couldn't stay away. The BEST pad thai and vegetable fried rice, great eggrolls and wontons too! Highly recommend
