Sarkis is a tiny place located a bit out of the way in Wilmette. You will find a ton of high school and college kids here who are looking to get their fix. There is next to no seating so be prepared to wait on the weekends. Still, you can’t beat a greasy spoon like this. Their Loretta sandwich is what made them famous. It’s a hoagie rolled warmed on the griddle while some thicker slices of ham are cooked with cheese. Its is then topped with onion, green pepper and red pepper. Make sure you order some hashbrowns with your Loretta. Some times they can be a miss and a bit under cooked but in general they are good. The new ownership has changed up the way they things are done and has raised the prices. There used to be a time when anything was around $5 for the entire meal. Now you are looking at $7 for a Loretta, hashbrowns and a coke. Still, enjoy it!
Been going here since I was little. They have wonderful food. Excellent chicken, shrimp and catfish. I would highly recommend here anytime.
