Joe’s Buffet has been in Fairfield, California for nearly 60 years. It’s one of the last standing downtown restaurants since the World War II days. But if you’ve ever had a bite at Joe’s, you’ll know why it will probably be around for another century or so. Joe’s offers some of the freshest sliced deli sandwiches to rival anything that San Francisco has to offer. Expect to munch on at least an inch of your preferred meat- be it roasted turkey, barbecue roast beef or Boar’s Head black forest ham- along with scrumptious sides that go beyond a bag of chips. Joe’s Buffet conjures up some addictive green bean casseroles, moist potato salad and even an antipasto delight. Grab a lunch combo of two sides, half a sandwich and a drink for $9. If you’re tired of baloney sandwiches for lunch or fast food, dip into Joe’s Buffet across from Pepperbelly’s.
