This restaurant provides a 21st Century five and dime, a local music venue, delicious pizza, and a salad that will convert most carnivores. It is charming and eclectic. The chef that makes your pizza will bring it out to you. What service! If you visit Gainesville, pay a stop to Satchel's. WARNING! It is a cash only establishment, but they have their proprietary ATM in case you forget.

I ate:

Satchel's Salad: red and green leaf lettuce, carrots, cukes, apples, red onion. Top Secret vinaigrette, romano cheese, tomatoes, almonds, sunflower seeds and a walnut ($7)

Atmosphere is what we look for in a dining experience. We have never been disappointed. Situated on the banks of the Cedar River, it gives an ambiance of being outdoors while enjoying wonderful food at a very good value. One can also be seated where the atmosphere is romantic. The waiters are very prompt and courteous. Overall, the best experience we have ever had in this area.
