Decent Place. They could use a kick in the butt in service

Had no clue what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The maitre'd was busy w/2 other hostesses and finally asked if we had reservations. I quickly pre-judged that this might be one of those wanna-be-high-maintenance places. We were seated shortly thereafter @ a table for 2 near the ceiling to floor windows framing the fountain full of koi. It was a beautiful view despite the multiple camera flashes from tourists.

I started w/a lycheetini & we grazed on hot bread that melted the butter from the knives. While we chatted the maitre'd returned to ask if we wanted to place our order w/her, seeing that our waiter was crazed. I felt honored by the attention and our food arrived shortly thereafter.

I forgot the name of my dish (I think it was chicken piccata) but it was basically a chicken breast lightly breaded & pan fried. It was served over a bed of linguini with a white wine sauce and capers. It was excellent! My aunt ordered a shrimp & chicken combo over pasta flavored with a rich roasted garlic. It was fantastic!

I didn't think I had room for dessert & then when we scanned the menu, I suddenly made room. We shared tiramisu & a scoop of chocolate gelatto. The gellatto was nothin special--in fact it just tasted like premium brand ice cream but the tiramisu was fabulous!

The maitre'd came once more to our table to check in on us that evening and I was starting to wonder about all the special attention. Then my aunt told me it was a place she use to bring clients. No wonder we got a great table & excellent customer service ; )

I had a private party here in 2000 and I just booked another for 2006. I love that they allow me to bring my own wine for a low corcage fee.

A classy Italian restaurant located in the heart of Ala Moana shopping center. Most dishes are excellent although a little heavy on the oil. Great wine selection to eat with your meal. Ample parking and excellent views of the koi pond oustide.
