Around 5:15PM I arrived to a crowded pkg lot & a line of patrons snaking out the door, while 60% of the tables were already occupied. (I hadn't been here before & was there on a referral from a self proclaimed 'foodie'). I overhear what must be Hawaii's version of the 'soup nazi' yellin @ patrons in front of me that there are 'no extra orders of [fill in the blank] if it's not scrawled on the whiteboard menu' and repeating 'PAY WHEN YOU PICK UP'. This young woman reminded me of an annoyed teenager, the kind that believes everyone on earth is a freakin moron.
Anyhow, I knew what I wanted so we didn't have a problem when I ordered. I requested the Shaorma (still don't know how to pronounce it) but it's basically a lamb patty topped with hummus or tahini, onion, & tomato, folded btwn the best pita bread I've ever had served with a small mixed green salad. Overall, it was a good dinner. Not the best greek/med I've ever had but the spices made it flavorful and the portion was priced well @ $10.01 (including tax).
As I waited, I also noted their BYOB policy. You get charged 48 cents per person to crack open your own bottle of wine or beer and an additional 48 cents per cup/glass/ice. They also offered a full selection of espresso drinks.
Other important notes, if you've never been:
1. It's cash or local check only.
2. Seating is tight. A handful of small tables for 3 max indoors & more seating outside for tables that can accommodate 4 comfortably
3. Parking is a challenge, given the limited spaces but if you really wanted to, I'm sure you could park in the McD's lot next door
4. You must wait in line to order & then 'PAY WHEN YOU PICK UP' your order.
