Cali Sandwich is easily a local darling of people in Houston who like Vietnamese food.
The proprietors of the restaurant are awesome, their food is great (and spectacularly priced) -- especially their sandwiches -- and you can see a pretty diverse group of people there day-today.
It is conveniently located in the Downtown/Midtown area, and serves the same menu all day long. They have a variety of specials, but already have so much variety on their standard menu (all of it excellent) that you'll probably never get any of them, unless you are looking for a particular lunch special.
Go here over Mai's any day unless it's after 9PM (Cali closes at nine).
