I love the sanctuary. It is a small place, offering a intimate atmosphere. The pizza is absolutely delicious, and they have a large wine selection as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to get away from the chain pizza scene.
The Sanctuary is the perfect place to go if you want to hang out with your friends. The food is good, but the real reason to go there is the beer and the atmosphere. The Sanctuary has the best beer selection in Iowa City with lots of European imports and American micro-brews. The atmosphere is great, low lighting, lots of booths in little nooks and a really cozy feeling. It's usually not too loud, so it's great if you want to hang out and have a good conversation.
