I adore Jardine's. It is such a romantic spot. There is live jazz every night beginning around seven. They have an extensive wine list with half bottles and full bottles in all your favorite varieties. Every time I go there, there is a new cocktail on the menu. Over the fall, I got a Sleepy Hollow that had pumpkin and cinnamon liquer in it. It was delicious. I love to go to Jardine’s after spending the day on the Plaza. It’s so much fun to share a bottle of wine at a tall table in the dim light and listen to some live jazz. All of the performers are beyond compare: ranging from soloists, to quintets, to larger groups. Their stage is against the front of the house and all of the seating is squirreled away into intimate little corners. The food is fantastic. Their gourmet eclectic style menu appeals to appetites of all types. The mile-high House burger is fantastic. It’s served nestled in a bed of fries on a white white plate with all of the necessary burger-like accoutrements. Their bruschetta is divinity. The Rote Grutze, as quoted on their website as a “mixed berry compote layered with cream anglaise served with crisp cinnamon & sugar crisps,” is utterly perfect as the final act of the night. The service is impeccable. Overall, Jardine’s is a fantastic date spot. The restaurant is never busy, despite its location being nearly on the Plaza; therefore, it is a great intimate spot to take you special someone and gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes over a drink and some fantastic music.
